Jimmy Buffalo is the pseudonym of West Australian female Jasmine Turner. Graduating from CIT in 2012, studying an advanced diploma in fashion & textile design Jasmine constructed her first collection. Tilted ‘The Hunter, the Gatherer & the Harvest’ it was made of a five bodied menswear collection. With over fourteen garments drafted from hand, as well as the creating fabrications and construction. The collection told a story of a trout fisherman fighting the currents of mother nature.
Jasmine was later awarded the Mannerist Prize in which she spent two seasons at an internship at the Perth-Sydney studio Mannerist Textiles, working on digital textiles, some designs later were sold to Spanish fashion retailer Zara.
The Hunter, the Gatherer and The Harvest collection took Jasmine to Sydney’s Australian New Zealand Graduates Fashion Week.

“ Jasmine Turner showed some great pieces in her collection using texture to characterise clothes worn by your average tradie. It’s quite a romantic image that the clothes give off, of the tradesman doing hard honest work who you see on the train home with hems fraying and fabric marred by paint. ” Terry Dionysopoulos and Scenes of Sydney

Jimmy Buffalo has always been a platform that still carries the true elements of working with the hands to create meaningful clothing. Now branching out to women’s wear too, each piece has a little bit of Jimmy Buffalo in it, weather it be handmade textiles, embroidery, sewing, design and using sustainable vintage.
